What research
will Europe need to increase competitiveness of agri-food, forestry and related
industries? Over the last year scientists and experts have set out a research
agenda to meet this need. The "Plants for the Future" research agenda
was unveiled on July 5th during a Press Conference at the Hilton Strasbourg from
10:30 to 11:30am.

There were key-note addresses from Commissioner Potočnik, Commissioner for
Science and Research and Mr. Giles Chichester MEP, Chairman Committee on
Industry, Research and Energy, and personalities from industry, research and
agriculture.
