Observer:
Who
can become an observer?
Any organisation or institution interested in plant science, e.g. from
consumer affairs or industry. There are two categories of Observers: 1.
European Organisations, and 2. Smaller organisations or individual
companies.
What
input do we expect from an observer?
The working of EPSO is very time-efficient, mainly by e-mail.
EPSO
produces statements and recommendations - these are sent out for
discussion to all member representatives, supporters and observers to get
their input. When they are finalized, all involved are asked if they agree
and can thus be listed at the end of the document to reflect their input.
Brainstorming meetings of 3-10 participants support when appropriate these
discussions.
The
observers help to disseminate such documents via their contacts in
collaboration with the EPSO members.
All
members, supporters and observers are mentioned on the EPSO web for
information.
What
is the benefit for the observer?
The
observer gets access to information EPSO receives and statements it
articulates. The observer networks with the stakeholders in plant science
and develops a constructive dialogue with them to improve the excellence,
impact and visibility of plant science in Europe.
How
to apply?
A request to become observer must be sent to the EPSO office by e-mail or fax. (download the form: Word or PDF )
Who
decides about your application?
The General Meeting has full and final discretion to decide whether to
admit a new observer if an ordinary majority of members agree.
